- Tell It To The Judge

From the moment they took flight with their first release Tales of Drunkenness and Cruelty, The Condors knew they were on to something special -- pop songs with attitude, power, and intellect. That comes as no surprise: the band is the vehicle for the songs and performances of Patrick “Pooch” DiPuccio, legendary co-founder of the venerable Flipside Fanzine and a living encyclopedia of guitar rock and pop music with a gift for channeling that history into gritty and engaging tunes of his own. The Condors’ second CD, Wait For It, which appropriately enough chronicles a night and day in the life of a fanzine writer, garnered a great deal of airplay and glowing reviews worldwide, as did their third release, 3 Item Combo.
Their newest release on Big Stir Records, Joie de Vivre, is a mini-album tribute to front man Pat DiPuccio’s former band Blow-Up. The disc is even enhanced by the contribution of some of that band’s ex-members and friends. The current lineup of The Condors consists of singer/guitarist DiPuccio, drummer John Murphy (who separately records as the much-loved Sitcom Neighbor), with selected bass players filling in. Super-producer Steve Refling, who helped craft The Condors' sound on all four releases, is a frequent sideman. The trio creates a full and energetic sound that ignites their live shows- fantastically loose affairs with frequent guest appearances from Pooch's stable of friends and luminaries of the LA scene. After listening to their music, or seeing them perform, you will understand why the critics (and fans!) continue to sing the praises of The Condors.

With their third CD, the band finds itself moving in a very introspective and diverse direction, while still retaining much of the pop style of their previous efforts. The idea of this collection was to take a more first person approach, culled from front man Pat DiPuccio’s personal experiences. The new power trio format allows the songs to breath and take shape, once again assisted and guided by producer extraordinaire Steve Refling.
On The Condors' debut, the band delivers edgy pop color over Americana roots rock. Unapologetic and insightful content with nods to Kinks and Steve Earle.

For their sophomore effort, The Condors again enlist producer, Steve Refling, to realize the band’s vision of overlaying old school punk with timeless pop production. These twelve songs reflect one rebel’s view of life against a nighttime Los Angeles backdrop.
